Taxonomy Identification: Family Saturniidae, First named by Guerin-Meneville, in 1847

Colour: Overall colour yellow with a twin chain of reddish-brown pyramid shapes on the forewings with a darker patch at the tip of wings. Each wing has a large moon-like shape. Underside similar but paler.

Size: Wingspan 120-145mm – Trailing tails in males up to 200mm long.

Comments & Applications: One of the most magnificent of all insects. The huge Comet Moth or Madagascar Moon moth. Females have broader wings and shorter tails, while males have very long elegant tails. A must-have collectable
